Parker's career best leads XULA past Paul Quinn

        AUSTIN, Texas — NAIA All-American Taylor Parker hit a career-best .765 Friday afternoon to lead Xavier University of Louisiana in a 25-23, 25-15, 25-22 women's volleyball victory against Paul Quinn at the Rams Fall Classic.
        Parker, a 6-foot-2 middle blocker and a junior from Charlotte, N.C., produced 14 kills in 17 attacks with one error. She had five blocks. Through three matches at this tournament, Parker is hitting .569 — 32 kills with three errors in 51 attacks.
        Also for XULA (8-3), Sydney Murray and Kennedy Campbell had 11 kills apiece, Kamea Uitenham served two aces, and Michaela Clayton had 14 digs to reach double figures for the eighth consecutive match. Charity Metcalf had 25 assists, and Felise Jones had 22.
        Carrie Weston had 10 kills for Paul Quinn (2-7).
        XULA outhit Paul Quinn .295 to .161 and had advantages of 53-33 in kills and 56-47 in digs.
        XULA will conclude its tournament schedule with an 11:30 a.m. Saturday match against NCAA Division III Howard Payne.
