TYLER, Texas - The Gold Nuggets continued their dominant road trip Saturday with 59-36 blowout of Texas College.
It was a defensive masterpiece for Xavier (9-7, 6-5 RRAC), which leapt the Steers (8-10, 6-6 RRAC) and into 6th place in the Red River Athletic Conference by holding Texas College to just 24 percent shooting for the night.
The Gold Nuggets also forced the Steers into 24 turnovers and held all Texas College scorers to single digits.
Alicia Blanton, who has served as Xavier's sixth woman over the past three games, led the offense with 13 points. She also added 5 rebounds.
Jala Williams and Ryli Martin added 9 points apiece, while Fatima Black scored 8 and pulled down a team-high 7 rebounds.
XULA remains on the road for its next game, a Thursday visit to Pineville for an RRAC contest against Louisiana Christian. Tipoff for that game is slated for 5:30 p.m.
