NEW ORLEANS, La. - The XULA women's basketball team ran away from the North Texas-Dallas here Saturday, tripling the Mustangs' offensive output in the fourth quarter to secure a 73-55 Red River Athletic Conference win.
Xavier (12-8, 9-6 RRAC) maintained a lead over UNTD (8-9, 7-8 RRAC) for most of the game, but went on a bruising 24-8 run in the fourth to turn the game into a rout.
Three Gold Nuggets scored in double figures on the night. Alicia Blanton and Shania Swan, both playing in reserve, led the way with 14 and 13 points, respectively, while starter Jala Williams scored 10.
Both Blanton and Swan contributed season-first double-doubles, with each having pulled 10 rebounds.
Next up for the Gold Nuggets will be a Monday night tilt against in-town rival Dillard on the road. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
