TEXARKANA, Texas - The Xavier women's basketball team secured its most impressive road win of the season here Thursday night, out-dueling second-place RRAC opponent Texas A&M Texarkana 59-53.
In a game that was close throughout, TAMUT (16-8, 14-4 RRAC) had the chance to reclaim the lead in the waning moments, but Xavier (16-9, 12-7 RRAC) sank enough free throws and secured a late turnover to turn their opponents away.
Senior reserve guard Yara Bou Harb led the team with 14 points, including a steal and three free throws in the last 5 seconds of the game to officially seal the win. Bou Harb also contributed 4 assists and a pair of rebounds.
Jaleah LaFargue was the other XULA player to reach double-figures in scoring, posting 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and a block.
Alicia Blanton led the team in rebounding with 11, Fatima Katembo posted 8 points and 7 rebounds, and Tiarra Tillison scored 8 points and dished out 4 assists.
Xavier wraps its 25-26 road campaign Saturday with a 1 p.m. visit to Red River Athletic Conference-leading LSU-Shreveport.
