A quintet of Gold Rush basketball players were named to the 2025-2026 Red River Athletic Conference All-Conference men's basketball team.
Leading the way was senior Bentravin Phillips, a 5-foot-9 point guard from Lafayette, La. Phillips was a force all season for XULA. He averaged 14.5 points per game, and on 10 occasions scored 20 or more points.
Phillips was also provided an average of just under 3 rebounds and just over 3 assists per game. He was also the player responsible for the play of the season for Xavier Men's Basketball, if not the whole of Xavier Athletics, a buzzer-beating 3-pointer that stunned in-city rival Dillard on the road.
Joining Phillips on the All-RRAC team were center Jamal Gibson, a second-team selection. Seviuhn Turner and Nasir DeGruy both earned honorable mention.
DeGruy averaged 11.9 points per game, while Turner accounted for an average of 11.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. He also blocked 18 shots and collected 54 steals.
Torin Bell, a senior forward from Loranger, La., rounded out the Xavier representation on the team when he was named to the 2026 RRAC All-Champions of Character team.
