NEW ORLEANS - XULA baseball started its 2026 campaign with quite the test, a home showdown with NCAA Division II team Miles College. The Gold Rush showed heart, but ultimately fell 9-0 to a team that typically ranks among the upper echelon of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Cohen Boyd went 1-for-3 with a double, while Paul Ramseur, Chris Ceccini, Lawrence Steed, and Kendall Larry each contributed a hit.Â
Jeremy Clark (0-1) took the loss despite pitching 4 innings and striking out 8 and allowing just 2 earned runs.Â
XULA has two more games against NCAA Division II teams this weekend. Next up will be a Saturday game against Lane College. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m.Â
