XULA completes season sweep of LCU

NEW ORLEANS - Xavier built a solid lead in the first half and never looked back here Monday night, defeating in-state and RRAC opponent Louisiana Christian 54-48. 

The Gold Nuggets (15-9, 11-7 RRAC) outscored LCU (3-21, 2-16 RRAC) 17-11 in the first quarter and 12-9 in the second to set up the win. 

Offensively, Xavier spread the points around evenly. Seven players scored 5 or more points in the game. 

Reserve forward My Montgomery, a freshman from Baton Rouge, led the team with 11 points and 9 rebounds. 

XULA takes to the road for its next two contests, which will be the final two away games of the regular season. First up will be Texas A&M-Texarkana at 5:30 on Thursday.
