NEW ORLEANS - The Gold Rush fell to No. 20 Texas A&M Victoria twice on Saturday, listing 6-3 and 12-2 in a doubleheader.
In the first game, centerfielder Cohen Boyd and third baseman Bryce Thomas led the offense with 1-for-3, 1-RBI performances. Boyd was also good for a triple.
In the second game, Boyd drove in both of Xavier's runs and added a double and a steal. Shortstop Lawrence Steed was 2-for-3.
Starting pitchers Chad McKenzie and Jeremy Clark both took a loss, but struck out 5 batters apiece over 5.1 and 5 respective innings of work.
Next up for the XULA is a midweek home game against Loyola New Orleans at Skelly-Rupp Stadium.
