PINEVILLE, La. - The Xavier softball team took a 7-5 loss but still won the series Saturday at Louisiana Christian.
XULA, which had taken both halves of a doubleheader on Friday, put up some impressive numbers on offense but was unable to stave off LCU.Â
For the Gold Nuggets, Amaya Williams was a standout with a 2-for-4 showing at the plate and a run scored.Â
McKayla Mandina went 1-for-1 with an RBI, while Miya Covington went 1-for-2 with 2 runs scored, and Morgan Malveaux went 1-for-4 with a run scored, a double, and an RBI.Â
Xavier returns to action Friday with a RRAC home doubleheader against No. 13 LSU-Alexandria. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
