Baseball unable to overcome TAMUT in doubleheader

TEXARKANA, Texas - The Xavier baseball team dropped a pair of Friday conference games on Friday, falling 13-1 and 15-5 against Texas A&M Texarkana. 

Game 2 featured several highlights for the Gold Rush, as the team stole six combined bases and third baseman Chase DeLoach went 2-for-3 with a home run, 2 RBI, and a steal.  

Second baseman Kendall Larry had a strong game as well, going 1-for-2 with a triple, an RBI, a run scored, and two steals. 

Right fielder Paul Ramseur was also solid in the second contest, going 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. 

The pitching staff did a solid job for the Gold Rush in the latter half of the doubleheader. The trio of Dominik Reimonenq, Coby Guillory, and Charles Carter struck out a combined 8 batters over 8 innings of work.

In the first game, Lawrence Steed went 1-for-3 to lead the offense. Syr Bailey scored the team's only run. 

The Gold Rush conclude their series with TAMUT Saturday at 1 p.m.
