Gold Nuggets take pair of losses against No. 21 TAMUT

NEW ORLEANS - XULA took a pair of tough losses on Friday, falling 7-0 and 11-3 to No. 21 Texas A&M Texarkana in RRAC play. 

In the first game, the Gold Nuggets got strong offensive showings from centerfielder Miya Covington, shortstop Amiya Williams, and right fielder Destiny Lavigne. 

Covington, who batted leadoff, went 2-for-3, while Williams and Lavigne each went 1-for-3 with a double. 

In the second game, left fielder Jada Jones, second baseman Lexi McLin, and third baseman Morgan Malveaux were the stars at the plate. 

Jones went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while McLin went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI, and a run scored and Malveaux went 1-for-3 with a double. 

Xavier and TAMUT complete their series with a single game on Saturday at noon.
