XULA falls in Game 3 against TAMUT

NEW ORLEANS - A rough spate of unearned runs cost the Gold Rush in a 14-4 conference loss to Texas A&M Texarkana on Saturday. 

Xavier played a much more competitive game than the score suggests, but ill-timed errors led to 9 unearned runs for TAMUT. 

Shortstop Amaya Williams had a marvelous day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. 

Seniors Arin Dale and T'Auna Fenroy each went 1-for-3 with an RBI, with Dale adding a run. 

Left fielder Jada Jones went 1-for-3 with 2 runs scored. 

Next up for XULA will be a midweek doubleheader at in-city rival Dillard. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Wesley Barrow Stadium.
