4 XULA boats reach finals at Small Boat Initiative

GAINESVILLE, Ga. - The Xavier women's rowing team acquitted itself well in its first national competition in program history, the 2026 Women's Small Boat Initiative Championship at Lake Lanier Olympic Park.

Coach Tamara Clayton entered four boats in the competition, all of which reached the finals in their respective event.

Ultimately, XULA took fifth place in both women's single and women's quad, sixth in women's double A, and seventh in women's double B.

The Gold Nuggets' competition included rowers from Cal Berkeley Lightweights, Virginia Commonwealth, Franklin Pierce, Northwestern State, Oklahoma City University, North Georgia, Virginia, Gordon, and a team representing the Lake Lanier Rowing Club.
