A trio of XULA Cross Country runners represented the university in the third edition of the Battle for New Orleans, hosted by LSUNO Friday evening. 

In a loaded field featuring dozens of NCAA Division 1 athletes, Alexandria Pierson, Jayda Love, and Kayla Garrett all acquitted themselves well. 

Pierson completed the race in a team-best 18:40.1, while Love logged a 20:14.5, and Garrett a 21:01.5.

Friday was the season debut for XULA Cross Country, which will get a few weeks to prepare for its next challenge, a Sept. 24 run in Loyola New Orleans' Wolfpack Invitational in Parc Des Familles in Marrero.
