2026 Red River Athletics Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships Meet Manual

The RRAC championships, hosted by Xavier University of Louisiana, will be held at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans April 24-25, 2026. All pertinent meet information is listed below.

Meet Procedures

Facility: Tad Gormley Stadium is a 26,500 seat multi-purpose outdoor stadium, located in City Park, in New Orleans, La.
Meet Entry: Entries must be completed using the Direct Athletics website
www.directathletics.com. Updated meet information will be posted on this page. Please check back regularly for additional updates and information.
Entry Deadline:All entries must be received by Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Entries open on April 12,2026, at midnight. All entries must be done on Directathletics.com. No email or faxed entries will be accepted.
Packet Pick-Up: Packets can be picked up at Tad Gormley Stadium, from 11 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on Friday on April 24,2026. A wristband will be given to athletes, coaches, trainers, and managers to enter the competition areas.
Pre-meet practice: The practice track, located adjacent to the stadium, will be open for practice.

Team scoring will follow this scoring system from individual results:

Rules

NCAA rules will apply. Starting Heights Starting heights will be determined depending on field sizes & performances and will be posted once final entries are received. All seed times/marks will be verified prior to the meet by the timing crew.  ALL MARKS MUST BE ACHIEVED DURING THIS SEASON (2026) FOR ALL EVENTS EXCEPT FOR 3K,5K and the 4x800m relay. We WILL NOT do the steeplechase, pole vault, or the multis due to facility restrictions and safety concerns. In case of appeals, we will follow the updated NCAA rule of a window of 15 minutes after the results for the events are posted.

Warm-up Area: All warm-ups will be done on the practice track directly across from the stadium.  

Check-in: The clerk of the course is located at the end of the straightway on the south end of the track. Athletes in running events must check in 30 minutes before their event. Field Event athletes must
check in at their respective event area 30 minutes before their events.

Heat Sheets and Results. Heat sheets will be posted online Thursday evening by 5pm and will be included in each team’s packet. Heat sheet and results will be posted on https://results.adkinstrak.com/meet-list.

Implements: Implements will be certified at the stadium, from 11am-3pm on Friday and Saturday from 8-9am. Implements will be impounded
and taken to the ring by meet officials. Implements may be
collected at the conclusion of the event.

Xavier University of Louisiana Department of Sports Medicine-Athletic Training Emergency Action Plan

Xavier University of Louisiana - Tad Gormley Stadium Emergency Personal-Certified Athletic Trainer(s) are on site for all NAIA-sanctioned practices & competitions. Athletic Trainers are BOC certified; Louisiana State licensed, & American Heart Association certified. Team provider(s) is/are always on site for games and on call. Scott Montgomery, MD, Shannon Goode, MD, XULA team provider, or the on-call resident are to be notified during or immediately following transportation of patient to Ochsner Medical Center. In the event of an emergency, if an athletic trainer is not present, please notify the XULA Department of Sports Medicine athletic trainers as soon as possible.

Hospitality and Awards

Hospitality Tent: Hospitality will be provided by the track program and athletic department. Hospitality tent will be limited to coaches, sports information, officials, and event staff.
Pictures: Pictures will be taken at each event and shared via a Dropbox link for use by the participating teams.
Award Ceremony: Awards for the events on Day 1 will presented on Day 2 At 10:30 a.m. Awards from Day 2 will be presented 30 mins after the conclusion of the 4x400 meter relays.    
Awards: The following awards shall be recognized at the RRAC Conference Championship:
  • Individual conference champions (per event) Male and Female
  • Top 8 finishers (per event) Male and Female
  • Male Athlete of the Meet
  • Female Athlete of the Meet
  • RRAC All-Conference awards: Male and Female
 All-Conference shall be awarded to Athletes who place in the top 4 in an event. Athlete of the meet will be awarded to the athlete that scores the most points. Athlete of the meet: if the point totals result in a tie, the athlete with the most 1st place finishes shall win the tie. If both athletes have accrued the same number of 1stplace finishes, the tie breaker shall move to the athlete with the most 2nd place finishes to win the tie.

Lightning/Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, events will move to rolling schedule. In the event of severe weather/ lightening all individuals should move to the nearest covered shelter. Tad Gormley Stadium safe locations are in locker rooms, on the team bus, or in personal vehicles. All individuals should remain in the safe locations until the weather permits the return to activity and the Athletic Trainer gives all clear.
