Women’s Tennis Conference Championship

April 16-18, 2026 (New Orleans)

Red River Athletic Conference Championship – The RRAC champion shall be determined by a singleb elimination tournament. The seeding will be based on the following items: national rankings (Coaches Poll), common opponents, and dual match record of each team. The seeding meeting will be conducted prior to the tournament.

Important Information

  1. The automatic bid for nationals will go to the winner.
  2. The tournament will be held at Xavier University of Louisiana Tennis Complex.
  3. A tournament fee covering the cost of courts, referees, awards, and balls will be charged to each team.
  4. The coaches meeting will be conducted prior to the start of the championship.

Key Dates and Deadlines

  • Monday, April 13 (5 pm) – Postseason line-ups due to DeMarquez Trotter (dtrotte1@xula.edu).
  • Monday, April 13 (6 pm) – All line-ups sent out for coaches to review.
  • Tuesday, April 14 (5 pm) – Lineup Protest forms due
  • Wednesday, April 15 – Review of protests by oversight committee (Time TBA)
  • Wednesday, April 15 (noon) – All-Conference voting due
  • Wednesday, April 15 (8:00 pm) – Coaches meeting via Zoom

Line-Ups

  • All postseason line-ups must be submitted to Asst. A.D. DeMarquez Trotter (dtrotte1@xula.edu) no later than 5 pm Monday, April 13.
  • Singles and doubles line-ups should be exchanged simultaneously unless other arrangementsnare made prior to the start of the match.
  • The line-ups should be fair, with the strongest player at number 1 and so forth down the line.
  • If a player is injured, ill or unable to compete in doubles, another player may be direct line substituted for the player. The original order of play remains the same.
  • All physically able and eligible players shall be listed in the lineup. Coaches shall list all players who are able to play in the lineup at their appropriate position. Injured or ill players shall not be listed in the lineup unless they are cleared by an institution’s medical staff to play, and there is an expectation that they can complete their match. Players ruled ineligible by the institution, conference or governing body shall not be listed in the lineup.

Postseason Competition Model

  • Three doubles followed by 6 singles (3-6 format).
  • The format is three 6-game set doubles matches with a 7-point tiebreak at 6-all.
  • Doubles will be followed by six best-of-three set singles matches.
  • Seven team points. The team that wins two of the three doubles matches receives one point.
  • Each singles match is worth one point. Four or more points are required to win the team match.
  • After the doubles point has been decided, any remaining doubles matches shall be abandoned.
  • Once the outcome of the team match has been decided, the match will conclude.
  • All Matches will stop at Clinch. Clinch Singles and Clinch Doubles.
  • The ITA rule book should be followed in all matches. The code of conduct will be enforced.

Important Notes

  • This is a tentative schedule based on weather conditions and is subject to change. If there is rain in the forecast for Saturday, the semifinal matches may be moved to Friday late afternoon/evening.
  • Times for the listed matches are the best-case scenarios. They could be adjusted (moved back) as the day progresses. Matches will not start earlier than the time listed.
  • Teams will receive a minimum of a 90-minute break between matches.
