ITTA BENA, Miss. — Maura Moed had 13 kills, a
.455 hitting percentage, three aces and four blocks Tuesday
to lead Mississippi Valley to a 25-14, 25-17, 25-20 women's volleyball victory
over Xavier University of Louisiana.
Brychana Williams had nine kills, and April Brown
served three aces for the Devilettes (18-6), who avenged a five-set loss at
Xavier from Sept. 11.
Sierra Lyons had 12 kills and a .579 hitting percentage
for Xavier (5-22), and
Erin Vincent had five kills, six digs and three blocks.
Mississippi Valley outhit the Gold Nuggets .269 to
.111 and had advantages of 40-25 in kills, 10-2 in aces and 36-31 in digs.
Xavier, an NAIA member, will stay on the road to play
another NCAA Division I opponent, Alcorn State, at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
