LAFAYETTE, La. —
Xavier University of Louisiana's
Emerald Carter and
Seth Alexander produced qualifying
marks for NAIA outdoor nationals Saturday in the Louisiana Classics meet.
Carter produced an A-qualifying time of 14.23 seconds in an eighth-place finish
in the women's 100-meter hurdles. Alexander placed third in the men's triple jump with a B-qualifying mark of 14.41 meters/47 feet, 3 1/2 inches.
Carter and Alexander were All-Americans in their respective events last season.
This was XULA's first meet of the outdoor season.
Next for XULA will be the Prairie View Relays Friday and Saturday at Prairie View, Texas.
NAIA nationals will be May 25-27 at Gulf Shores, Ala.
