Xavier University of Louisiana's Red River Athletic Conference
soccer doubleheader at LSU-Shreveport was moved from Saturday to Monday
because of the threat of severe weather this weekend.
The women of XULA and LSUS will kick
off at 1 p.m. at the Generals' home facility, The Swamp, followed by the men's game at 3:30 p.m.
The National Weather Service Saturday forecast for Shreveport, La.:
"A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 7 a.m.
High near 74 degrees. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible."
Monday forecast: Mostly sunny with a high of 76.
The LSUS women lead with a 9-0 conference record,
and the Gold Nuggets are in second place at 7-0-2. LSUS leads the men with a 9-0 Red River record,
and the Gold Rush are third at 6-1-1.
In the most recent NAIA men's coaches poll,
LSUS was ranked 11th, and XULA was 21st. New rankings will be announced Wednesday.
