CLINTON, Miss. — Freshmen
Charieon Doxley,
Madison Marshall and
Tori Robinson-Thomas made their debuts Friday for Xavier University of Louisiana women's cross country in the Watson Collegiate Classic at Choctaw Trails.
Those three helped the Gold Nuggets achieve their first team score of the 2025 season.
Another freshman,
Chris-Ann Edwards, was the Gold Nuggets' fastest finisher for the fourth time in five meets. Edwards ran 6,000 meters in 27 minutes, 55.9 seconds and placed 119th out of 168 runners.
Jayda Love placed 128th in 28:33.6, Doxley was 152nd in 33:02.1,
Dakota West was 160th in 35:59.3, Marshall was 164th in 37:36.6, and Robinson-Thomas was 168th in 41:29.3.
XULA scored 502 points to place 19th out of 19 women's teams.
XULA did not qualify for team scoring in the 8K men's race. The Gold Rush finishers were
Benjamin Ford, 123rd out of 214 runners in 28:58.0;
Jaheene Bell, 194th in 35:02.6;
Kevin Bahena, 200th in 36;41.3; and
Lejaune George, 208th in 39:14.3.
Individual champions were Jeremiah Garcia (24:26.2) of East Texas A&M in the men's race and Addi Aguayo (21:27.8) of Union (Tenn.) in the women's. Host Mississippi College swept the team titles, scoring 63 points in the men's race and 38 in the women's.
Next for XULA will be the Red River Athletic Conference Championships Oct. 31 at Texarkana, Texas.
