HAWKINS, Texas — Xavier University of Louisiana stretched its women's volleyball winning streak to 11 matches Friday with a 25-15, 25-13, 25-19 Red River Athletic Conference victory against Jarvis Christian.
        The Gold Nuggets (12-2 overall, 7-0 RRAC) remained in a first-place tie in the conference with Our Lady of the Lake, a 25-15, 25-21, 25-17 winner at Huston-Tillotson.
        XULA and Jarvis Christian (9-5, 2-3) will meet again at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bulldogs' E.W. Rand Center.
        XULA was 10-0 in September and tied the school record for most wins in a month without a loss. The 2013 Gold Nuggets were 10-0 in October, and XULA was 10-0 in March 2021 when NAIA women's volleyball was a two-semester sport because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It's the Gold Nuggets' third unbeaten September and their first since the 2019 team was 7-0.
