Gold Rush produce sixth shutout victory, maintain share of RRAC lead

        SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Eduardo dos Santos and Gustavo Oliveira scored, and goalkeeper Breno Zanolla produced his fifth shutout victory in Xavier University of Louisiana's 2-0 Red River Athletic Conference men's soccer victory Thursday against Our Lady of the Lake.
        The Gold Rush (8-2 overall, 7-1 RRAC) share first place in the RRAC with Louisiana Christian, a 4-1 winner at Huston-Tillotson. The other two teams that began the day with a share of the lead — Houston-Victoria and Texas A&M-San Antonio — lost at home.
        In the 25th minute dos Santos scored — Oliveira assisted — and it was 1-0 at halftime. Oliveira scored in the 48th minute. Zenolla had six saves.
        Overall XULA has six shutout victories — all in the last eight games and three of them on road — in its debut varsity season. XULA and UHV lead the RRAC with six shutout victories apiece, and Louisiana Christian and TAMUSA are next with five apiece.
        LSU-Alexandria defeated Houston-Victoria 1-0, and North American beat Texas A&M-San Antonio 2-1.
        XULA will visit Texas A&M-San Antonio at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
