Red River Athletic Conference standings

        SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Luci Schroeder scored in the 77th minute Thursday to break a tie and give Xavier University of Louisiana a 2-1 Red River Athletic Conference women's soccer victory against Our Lady of the Lake.
        The Gold Nuggets (7-3 overall, 7-1 RRAC) won their fourth in a row — a record for this first-year varsity program — and remained atop the conference standings.
        XULA ended the five-game unbeaten streak of the Saints (6-3-1, 5-2-1), who allowed one goal in their previous five games and were 4-0-1 during that time.
        It was 1-all at halftime after Amora Altmon scored for XULA in the 15th minute, then Vivianna Gutierrez scored for OLLU in the 17th minute.
        XULA did not allow a second-half goal for the third consecutive game. Winning goalkeeper Theresa Wiesiolek played all 90 minutes had five saves.
        Joining Altmon, Schroeder and Wiesiolek in XULA's starting lineup were Britni Belmonte, Faye Butterworth, Julia de Souza, Gabriela Gonzalez, Grete Nelson, Maureen Owusu, Millicent Owusu and Tatum Register.
        XULA will visit another RRAC opponent, Texas A&M-San Antonio, at 1 p.m. Saturday.
