Gold Rush win 3-0 to gain first-place tie in RRAC

        METAIRIE, La. — Xavier University of Louisiana men's soccer will enter the final week of the regular season in a first-place tie in the Red River Athletic Conference after its 3-0 Sunday home victory against Huston-Tillotson.
        The Gold Rush (10-3 overall, 9-2 RRAC) share the lead with Louisiana Christian (9-3-3, 8-1-2). Ties are counted as a half-game won and a half-game lost. XULA and LCU will meet at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Pineville, La., in the regular-season finale.
        Against the Rams (3-9-1, 2-8-1), Gustavo Oliveira scored the first two goals, and Victor Ferraz got the third. Oliveira and Ferraz scored on penalty kicks in the second half.
        Zanolla recorded three saves in his seventh shutout victory, all against RRAC opponents.
        XULA led 1-0 at halftime. Leonardo Menzen's right-corner kick set up Oliveira's goal in the 20th minute.
        XULA will play its final two RRAC games on the road. The other will kick off at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at LSU-Alexandria.
