Red River Athletic Conference standings
ALEXANDRIA, La. — Xavier University
of Louisiana men's soccer played a scoreless tie Thursday against LSU-Alexandria,
and as a result the Gold Rush lost a share of the lead in the Red River Athletic Conference.
LSU-Shreveport has sole possession of
first place after its 8-0 home victory against Texas College. The Pilots have 30 points
— the RRAC awards three points for a victory, one point for a tie and zero
points for a loss in conference games — and XULA (10-3-1 overall, 9-2-1 RRAC)
is second with 28 points.
XULA and LSUA had seven shots on goal apiece.
LSUA (7-6-3, 3-3-3) outshot the Gold Rush 18-10.
The shutout was the ninth this season for
the XULA defense and the eighth for goalkeeper
Breno Zanolla, all against RRAC opponents.

XULA has clinched one of the eight spots in the RRAC Tournament, which will begin late next week.
