RRAC co-leading Gold Nuggets, Generals meet Thursday at LSUA

Red River Athletic Conference standings

NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana and LSU-Alexandria, tied for first place in Red River Athletic Conference women's soccer with 9-2 records, will attempt to break the tie when they meet at 1 p.m. CDT Thursday at LSUA.
Admission is free. LSUA's facility is on campus and near student housing.
XULA, a first-year program and 9-4 overall, gained a share of the RRAC lead when LSUA lost 3-1 Monday at LSU-Shreveport.
The RRAC determines its standings by awarding three points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a loss in conference games. XULA and LSUA have 27 points apiece, followed by Texas A&M-Texarkana (8-2-1) with 25 points, LSUS (7-1-3) with 24 points and Louisiana Christian (7-2-2) with 23.
The reigning RRAC Players of the Week — XULA freshman goalkeeper Luisa Bella (defense) and LSUA junior forward Remmie Ferla (offense) — will meet. Bella has an active streak of 350 minutes without allowing a goal; Ferra leads the RRAC with 32 points — two points for goals, one point for assists — and is tied for the conference lead in goals with 14.
XULA's leaders in goals are freshman forward Amora Altmon with 11 and junior midfielder Luci Schroeder with 10.
XULA will visit Louisiana Christian at 6 p.m. Saturday to conclude the regular season. XULA has clinched a spot in the eight-team RRAC Tournament, which will begin late next week.
