        LONGVIEW, Texas — Xavier University of Louisiana women's soccer rolled to a 16-0 Red River Athletic Conference victory Thursday against Texas College.
        The Gold Nuggets (5-3 overall, 5-1 RRAC) won for the fifth time in their last six games. They'll stay on the road and visit RRAC opponent Jarvis Christian at 1 p.m. Saturday.
        Julia de Souza and Luci Schroeder scored three goals apiece. Amora Altmon scored twice. Chie Akayama, Faye Butterworth, Britni Belmonte, Nuela Fonmedig, Maureen Owusu, Charley Prouse, Tatum Register and Amelia Thompson also scored.
        Winning goaltender was Luisa Bella. Texas College was credited with zero shots.
        XULA set program records for goals in a game, goals in a half (10 in the second), goals in a first half (6), largest halftime lead (6) and largest second-half scoring margin (10).
        XULA's starters were Bella, Belmonte, Butterworth, de Souza, Maureen Owusu, Prouse, Schroeder, Thompson, Gabriela Gonzalez, Millicent Owusu and Amelia Suma.
        Texas College (0-7, 0-6) has been outscored 71-0 this season. The Lady Steers allowed double-digit goals for the third consecutive game. They've lost 33 in a row since a 3-2 home victory Oct. 24, 2019, against Paul Quinn.
        The Nuggets are two wins above .500 overall for the first time. This is XULA's first season of varsity women's soccer.
