Red River Athletic Conference standings
       HAWKINS, Texas — Xavier University of Louisiana scored three second-half goals to break a halftime tie Saturday and earn a 4-1 Red River Athletic Conference women's soccer victory against Jarvis Christian.
       The Gold Nuggets (6-3 overall, 6-1 RRAC) took sole possession of first place in the RRAC after Texas A&M-Texarkana lost 2-0 at home against LSU-Alexandria. LSUA is in second place at 5-1, and Our Lady of the Lake — XULA's next opponent — is third at 5-1-1.

Britni Belmonte scored XULA's first-half goal on a penalty kick, and it was 1-all at halftime. The Gold Nuggets got two second-half goals from
Amora Altmon and one from
Julia de Souza.
Luci Schroeder had two assists, and Belmonte had one.
       It was the sixth time in seven RRAC games that the Gold Nuggets scored three-or-more second-half goals.

       XULA, a first-year varsity program, is 3-0 in RRAC road games.
       Jarvis Christian (1-6-2, 1-5-1) lost its fifth in a row.
       In other RRAC games Saturday, LSU-Shreveport won 4-0 at home against Louisiana Christian, OLLU and Texas A&M-San Antonio played to a scoreless tie at TAMUSA, and Southwest (N.M.) won 3-0 at home against Huston-Tillotson.
       XULA will return to the road next week for RRAC games in San Antonio, Texas, against OLLU Thursday and Texas A&M-San Antonio Saturday. Both will start at 1 p.m.
