XULA's best scores all-time
Day 2 scores
NEW ORLEANS —
It was more rarefied air for Xavier University of Louisiana cheer when it scored
96.7 points Friday afternoon — its second highest score ever — to win a seven-team competition
on the final day of the Battle in the
Big Easy competitive cheer and dance meet at XULA's Convocation Center.
XULA will compete for a third straight
day at home when it plays host to an NAIA unaffiliated group qualifying meet at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Joining XULA in the meet will be Dillard and Montreat — Jarvis Christian, originally
announced as one of the teams, withdrew — and XULA will give its first of two
performances at 9:10 a.m. The meet will conclude at approximately 11 a.m.
XULA won Friday by nearly 16 points
over runner-up Langston, which scored 81.2. XULA finished 7-0 in this meet
and is 17-0 this season and 50-0 since the start of 2022.
XULA scored a school-record 98.6 points
against Concordia (Mich.) Thursday.
The winner of Saturday's meet will earn
an automatic bid to NAIA nationals March 10-11 at Ypsilanti, Mich.
XULA won the national title a year ago — XULA's first NAIA national team
championship in any sport.
