Xavier University of Louisiana's
Tianna Dixon was announced Tuesday as Red River Athletic Conference Player
of the Week in women's tennis for Feb. 20-26. It's the second straight week
that Dixon, a sophomore from
Mobile, Ala., and a graduate of UMS-Wright Preparatory School, won the award.
Dixon was 4-0 in doubles
and 4-0 in singles to help the Gold Nuggets go 4-0, including three victories at the LSUA Tournament
in Alexandria, La., and a 4-1 victory at NAIA No. 9 William Carey.
Dixon's singles victories clinched the match against William Carey and Our Lady of the Lake, and she and
McKenna Wheatley clinched the doubles point against William Carey.
It's the fourth straight week that the Gold
Nuggets won the RRAC award.
Valentina Largacha was honored for Jan. 30-Feb. 5,
and Wheatley won for Feb. 6-12.
The RRAC weekly award is the third of Dixon's career.
Next for XULA, 10-3 and ranked fifth in the NAIA, will be
matches in Macon, Ga.: 1 p.m. Friday against NAIA No. 6 Middle Georgia and noon Saturday against No. 22 Campbellsville.
