Gold Nuggets eliminated in semifinals

        SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Xavier University of Louisiana women's tennis lost 4-0 Friday to host Our Lady of the Lake in the semifinals of the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament.
        The Gold Nuggets — 12-10 and ranked 12th in the NAIA — will be considered for an at-large bid to the national tournament. The NAIA will announce April 29 the 24-team field and pairings. XULA seeks a 13th consecutive bid to nationals.
        Millie Wileman and Michaela Muller won 6-4 against Mbali Langa and McKenna Wheatley — No. 1 in the ITA NAIA doubles rankings — to clinch the first point. Ely Laure Ah-sou clinched the match with her 6-0, 6-3 victory against Ana Vasilis at No. 4 singles.
        The Saints, 8-12 and ranked 20th, ended XULA's bid for a third consecutive RRAC Tournament championship.
        OLLU will play Louisiana Christian, a 4-3 winner against LSU-Alexandria, for the championship at 9 a.m. CDT Saturday at Blossom Tennis Center.
