Xavier University of Louisiana's
Damoy Boyd was selected Red River Athletic Conference
Athlete of the Week in men's track for April 3-9.
The RRAC announced Tuesday the award,
which is Boyd's first this season and the third of his career.
Boyd, a junior from Kingston, Jamaica,
placed fourth in the 800-meter run at the Pelican Relays in Baton Rouge, La.
Boyd's time of 1 minute, 52:27 seconds is a B-qualifying mark for NAIA nationals,
and it ranks eighth on the 2023 NAIA men's outdoor season list. Boyd
placed fifth in the 1,500 (4:24.80) and 12th in the 3,000 (12:29.21).
NAIA nationals will be May 24-26 at Marion, Ind.
Next for XULA's men and women will be the Southeastern Strawberry Relays
Saturday at Hammond, La. Southeastern Track Complex will be the venue.
XULA opted out of the April 22 LSU Alumni Gold meet at Baton Rouge, La.
