Vote online for Seth Alexander for Louisiana, NOLA awards

Vote online:  Louisiana and New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS — Seth Alexander, Xavier University of Louisiana's first NAIA national champion in track and field, is a finalist for a pair of 2022-23 Greater New Orleans Sports Awards.
Fans can vote online for Alexander for the Corbett Award — Male, which goes to Louisiana's top amateur athlete, and for Outstanding Male Amateur, New Orleans. Winners in these and seven other categories will be announced starting Monday.
Alexander — from Arnaudville, La., and a graduate of Breaux Bridge High School — won the NAIA triple jump outdoors May 26 with a school-record 15.39 meters/50 feet, 6 inches. It was the second straight meet he broke the XULA record — he jumped 15.31 meters/50 feet, 2 3/4 inches in victory April 28 at the Red River Athletic Conference Championships in San Antonio, Texas.
Alexander is a pharmacy major and will be a senior athletically in 2023-24.
The other Corbett finalists are Dylan Crews and Paul Skenes of LSU baseball and Tyjae Spears of Tulane football. Alexander and Spears are finalists for the New Orleans award with Harlem Berry, a three-sport athlete at St. Martin's Episcopal School, and D'Wanye' Winfield of Lutcher High School football.
The Greater New Orleans Sports Awards Committee determined the finalists. The Allstate Sugar Bowl sponsors the awards, which date to 1957.
