NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana
women's volleyball completed a two-match Red River Athletic Conference sweep of Paul
Quinn with a 25-16, 25-21, 25-18 victory Saturday.
The Gold Nuggets (5-4, 2-0 RRAC) are 54-0 all-time
in their Convocation Center against regular-season conference opponents.
XULA statistical leaders included:

Kennedy Wade with 15 kills, a .303 hitting
percentage, one ace, one block and seven digs.
•
Bengisu Kazazlar with 25 assists, five aces, four digs, two blocks
and a kill. It was the second consecutive match that Kazazlar served five aces.
•
Ruxandra Flueras with 21 digs — her third time in four matches to reach 20 —
and three assists.
•
Stella Dineva with eight kills, four aces and two blocks.
•
Taylor Parker with four kills, a .375 hitting percentage and five blocks.
•
Sydney Murray with seven kills, a .400 hitting percentage, one ace, one block and seven digs.
•
Charity Metcalf with 13 assists.
Alaya Lecoq and Michaela Johnson had six kills apiece
for Paul Quinn (3-3, 0-2), and Teasia Cooks and Ahlyss McDaniel served two aces apiece. Lecoq had three blocks.
The match ended in 78 minutes after three consecutive
attack errors.
In other RRAC Saturday matches, Texas A&M-Texarkana
won 25-14, 25-15, 21-25, 25-23 at home against Huston-Tillotson, Our Lady of the Lake won 25-9, 25-8, 25-16 at Texas College,
and Louisiana Christian won 18-25, 25-17, 16-25, 25-20, 15-11 at Jarvis Christian.
Like XULA, Texas A&M-Texarkana, Our Lady of the Lake and Louisiana Christian are 2-0 in the RRAC.
Next for XULA will be a two-match RRAC series in Pineville, La.,
against Louisiana Christian: 7 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday. The next XULA home match will be Sept. 21.
