NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana
produced six qualifying marks Friday for NAIA indoor nationals, two apiece by
Kynnedy Turner
and
Seth Alexander, in the Blue Devils Classic track and field meet at Joe Brown Park/Victory Stadium.
The venue was outdoors, but times and distances were used in
qualification for NAIA indoor nationals Feb. 29-March 2 at Brookings, S.D.
XULA's qualifying marks for nationals were:
• Turner, A-qualifying times of 7.63 seconds
in the women's 60-meter dash and 24.80 in the 200.
• Alexander, A-marks of 7.09 meters/23 feet, 3 1/4 inches in the men's long
jump and 15.23 meters/49 feet, 11 3/4 inches in the triple jump. Alexander was the 2023 NAIA outdoor national champion in the triple jump.

Winston Young, A-time of 48.57 in the men's 400. That was
an improvement of two-tenths of a second from his B-mark Dec. 1.
•
Jade Harris, B-time of 9.00 in the women's 60 hurdles.
Next for XULA's women and men will be the Samford Invitational Jan. 20 at Birmingham, Ala.
