METAIRIE, La. —
Luci Schroeder scored three goals Thursday, and
Julia de Souza and
Samira Roper
scored two apiece to lead Xavier University of Louisiana women's soccer in
a 13-0 Red River Athletic Conference victory against Texas College.
It was the first of four straight home
games for the Gold Nuggets (7-3 overall, 6-0 RRAC), who will play Jarvis Christian
at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lafreniere Park. All XULA soccer home games offer free admission.
Schroeder scored three goals for the
fourth time to extend her XULA career record. Schroeder and Roper tied
Amora Altmon
for the most multi-goal games in a XULA career (4), and Roper tied Altmon
for the most multi-goal games in a season (4).
The Gold Nuggets scored double-digit goals at home
for the first time — this is their second season —
and extended their school-record win streak to seven.
Texas College (0-8, 0-7) extended its
losing streak to 48 and was shut out for the 46th consecutive game.
