Records for Gold Rush in 6-1 victory at Paul Quinn

2024 Red River Athletic Conference men's soccer standings

        DALLAS — Leonardo Menzen and Gustavo Oliveira scored two goals apiece Saturday to lead Xavier University of Louisiana in a 6-1 Red River Athletic Conference men's soccer victory against Paul Quinn.
        The Gold Rush (2-2-1 overall, 1-1 RRAC) tied the program record for goals in a game and set the record for goals in a second half with four.
        Goals by Guilherme Domingues and Jeremy Shortt — the first of the season for each — powered XULA to a 2-0 halftime lead. Menzen and Oliveira scored their goals in the second half.
        It was Oliveira's fifth career multi-goal game for XULA and Menzen's second.
        Caleb Evans had two of XULA's five assists. Goalkeeper Breno Zanolla played the first 75 minutes, then Mauricio Bosco relieved him for the final 15.
        Paul Quinn is 0-2-1 overall and 0-2 in the RRAC.
        Next for XULA will be a Red River home doubleheader Saturday against North American at Lafreniere Park in Metairie, La. The men's game will start at 3:30 p.m. and will follow the women, who will kick off at 1 p.m.

        •  Jarvis Christian, playing at home, tied at 2 with Houston-Victoria.
        •  LSU-Shreveport won 2-1 at home against Texas A&M-San Antonio.
        •  LSU-Alexandria, playing at home, tied at 1 with Louisiana Christian.

        •  Southwest (N.M.), playing at home, tied at 2 with North American . . . game suspended Saturday because of lightning and completed Sunday morning
