Another shutout, more records — Gold Nuggets win 14-0 at Paul Quinn

2024 Red River Athletic Conference women's soccer standings

        DALLAS — Xavier University of Louisiana cruised Saturday to a 14-0 Red River Athletic Conference women's soccer victory against Paul Quinn.
        The Gold Nuggets (3-3 overall, 2-0 RRAC) have won three straight, all road shutouts.
        Luci Schroeder and Samira Roper tied the XULA record for individual goals in a game with three apiece. Alina Paiz scored twice.
        With one goal apiece were Chie Akayama, Britni Belomnte, Shakiana Dagher, Julia de Souza, Eduarda Queiroz and Amelia Thompson. Faye Butterworth and Jayda Wyatt has two assists apiece.
        Schroeder broke her XULA record for points in a game — two points for each goal, one point for each assists — with nine. Schroeder and de Souza had a school-record three assists apiece.
        It's the third time in two seasons that Schroeder scored three goals.
        It was the second consecutive game that Roper and Paiz scored multiple goals. They joined Amora Altmon (2023) in that category.
        XULA set a program record for goals in a first half with seven.
        Goalkeeper Luisa Bella worked the shutout and notched her first victory this season.
        Paul Quinn is 0-2-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the RRAC.
        Next for XULA will be a Red River home doubleheader Saturday against North American at Lafreniere Park in Metairie, La. The women's game will start at 1 p.m., followed by the men at 3:30 p.m.
        In other RRAC games Saturday:
        •  Houston-Victoria won 4-3 at Jarvis Christian after trailing 3-1 in the 77th minute.
        •  Southwest (N.M.) won 4-1 at home against North American.
        •  Texas A&M-Texarkana won 3-0 at home against Our Lady of the Lake.
        •  LSU-Shreveport won 4-0 at home against Texas A&M-San Antonio.
        •  LSU-Alexandria played to a scoreless tie with Louisiana Christian at LSUA.
