NEW ORLEANS —
A record-tying seven teams from Xavier University of Louisiana will compete Saturday:
four at home and two nearby.
XULA will play host to the
NAIA Gulf Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Championships
Friday through Sunday. Main-draw matches will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at City Park.
Semifinals and finals will be Sunday at XULA.
Women's and men's soccer
will play their first home doubleheader of the season.
It'll be a Red River Athletic Conference matchup with North American.
The Gold Nuggets will play at 1 p.m. Saturday, and the Gold Rush will play at 3:30 p.m.
Admission is free at Lafreniere Park in Metairie, La., and the first 200 fans
will receive a free serving of Blue Bell ice cream.
Women's volleyball
will travel to Hobbs, N.M., for two Red River matches
with Southwest. The Gold Nuggets and Mustangs will play at 6 p.m. Friday
and noon Saturday. Times are Mountain Daylight.
Cross country will compete Saturday morning in the
Nicholls Invitational at Thibodaux, La. The women's 5,000-meter race will start at 8 o'clock.
The men's four-mile race will begin at 8:30.
The first time seven XULA teams competed
in one day was March 12, 2021.
