MISSOURI CITY, Texas —
Shakiana Dagher set a Xavier University of Louisiana women's soccer
game record with four assists, and four Gold Nuggets scored twice apiece
Saturday in a 13-1 Red River Athletic Conference victory against North American.
Dagher assisted on the Gold Nuggets'
second, third, sixth and 12th goals. The junior defender broke the previous mark
of three assists set by
Luci Schroeder and
Julia de Souza in 2024
and tied by
Juliana Kottbauer in September.
It was 6-1 at halftime, and XULA
scored four times in the final 11 minutes.
Scoring two goals apiece were Kottbauer,
Samira Roper,
Faye Butterworth and
Amelia Suma. Butterworth and Suma scored
their goals in the second half.
Keira Hardstaff,
Anita Roese,
Crislyn Gregory,
Lea Cordier and
Alina Paiz also scored.
Roper's multi-goal game was her seventh
this season and the 11th of her career, both of which extended her XULA records. Roper's second
goal was her 19th this season, which tied the XULA record she set in 2024.
Winning goalkeeper was
Paula Camus (3-0).
Genevieve Colon's goal in the 15th minute ended XULA's bid for an eighth consecutive
defensive shutout to start the conference schedule.
XULA is 7-2-3 overall and 6-0-2 in conference. The Stallions are 1-13-1 and 1-6-1.
XULA will play host to Louisiana Christian
at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lafreniere Park in suburban Metairie, La. It's a doubleheader —
the men of XULA and LCU will kick off at 3:30 p.m. — and admission is free.
