SAN ANTONIO, Texas —
Samira Roper and
Juliana Kottbauer scored two goals apiece Thursday to lead Xavier University of Louisiana in a 5-0 Red River Athletic Conference women's soccer victory against Texas A&M-San Antonio.
The Gold Nuggets (4-2-1 overall, 3-0 RRAC) remained in a first-place tie in the conference.
Roper scored in the first 65 seconds, then tacked on the final goal in the 79th minute. Kottbauer scored in the 17th and 66th minutes.
Lea Cordier's goal in the 36th minute gave XULA a 3-0 halftime lead.
Roper was five multi-goal games this season and leads the conference with 14 goals.
XULA did allow a shot the first 56 minutes. The Jaguars attempted two shots, both saved by
Luisa Bella, thereafter.
TAMUSA is 2-6-1 and 1-2.
XULA outscored its first three Red River opponents by a combined 30-0. The Gold Nuggets became the first opponent to score five goals at TAMUSA, a fifth-year program.
The Gold Nuggets will remain in San Antonio for a 1 p.m. Saturday kickoff against RRAC member Our Lady of the Lake.
