NEW ORLEANS - The XULA volleyball team went 1-1 in its appearance in the 2025 Red River Athletics Conference championship tournament, hosted at the Convocation Center. 

The Gold Nuggets (20-10) downed Texas College in straight sets in the quarterfinals before falling in three close, hard-fought sets to Our Lady of the Lake in the semifinals. 

Xavier bested the Steers by scores of 25-15, 25-14, 25-18, but then lost 23-25, 26-28, and 19-25 to OLLU. 

In the latter match, Kamea Uitenham and Taylor Parker were good for 8 kills apiece, while Kennedy Campbell provided 9 blocks and Charity Metcalf 22 assists. 

Despite the loss, the Gold Nuggets have much to be proud of, having posted a 20-win season since 2022.
