Men's Track and Field

Bell, Ali win RRAC weekly awards; Gold Rush 6-for-6 this season

NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana's men's track and field has swept all three weeks of Red River Athletic Conference awards in 2025. Jaheene Bell (track) and Mansur Ali (field) earned the honors for March 31-April 6.
The RRAC announced the awards Tuesday. Bell and Ali also won during week one.
Bell — a sophomore from Old Harbour, Jamaica, and a graduate of Saint Catherine School — set a school record of 52.17 seconds Saturday in winning the 400-meter hurdles at the Pelican Relays in Baton Rouge, La. Bell is No. 2 on the 2025 NAIA season list, and his time is an A-qualifier for NAIA nationals next month.
Ali — a freshman from Pike Road, Ala., and a graduate of Pike Road High School — competed in four events at the Pelican Relays. Ali's results included 13.06 meters/42 feet, 10 1/4 inches in the shot put, 36.74 meters/120 feet, 6 inches in the javelin and 32.73 meters/107 feet, 4 inches in the discus.
XULA's men and women will compete Friday at Southeastern Louisiana University's Strawberry Relays in Hammond.
