Trahan, Wright keep alive the Gold Rush RRAC weekly award streak

NEW ORLEANS — Xavier University of Louisiana men's track and field has done it again.
The Gold Rush have swept all four weeks of Red River Athletic Conference awards in 2025. Damien Trahan (field) and Collin Wright (track) earned the honors for April 7-13.
The RRAC announced the awards Tuesday.
Trahan — a fifth-year athlete from Lake Charles, La., and a graduate of Barbe High School — produced an A-qualifying mark for NAIA nationals and a career best when he high-jumped 2.10 meters/6 feet, 10 3/4 inches in a second-place finish at the Strawberry Relays in Hammond, La.
Wright — a freshman from Porter, Texas, and a graduate of Porter High School — finished third out of 23 runners in the 800-meter run at the Strawberry Relays (1 minute, 58.91 seconds) and helped the 3,200 relay team finish first in 9:55.12.
XULA's men and women have this week off, then will defend their team titles April 25-26 in the RRAC Championships at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans.
