Xavier University of Louisiana to a 15-0 women's soccer victory Thursday
against Texas College at Lafreniere Park.
It was the Red River Athletic Conference opener
for both teams.
Roper scored four times,
and Kottbauer's three assists tied the XULA record.
XULA's eight goals were its most ever in a first half.
Chie Akayama and
Amelia Thompson scored twice apiece,
and Kottbauer,
Anita Roese,
Fauziya Prothro,
Faye Butterworth,
Lea Cordier,
Jayda Wyatt
and
Lanettia Aikens scored one goal apiece. Wyatt and
Amelia Suma had two assists apiece.
XULA goalkeepers
Luisa Bella (starter) and
Paula Camus split the time. Camus, a senior and a transfer
from UT Permian Basin, made her XULA debut.
XULA produced advantages of 53-0
in shots and 30-0 in shots on goal.

at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lafreniere Park. Admission is free. It'll be a doubleheader;
the NAIA No. 18 XULA men will kick off at 3:30 p.m. against Southwest.
