Gold Nuggets host Pink Day versus Andrew

METAIRIE, La. - Thursday afternoon, as they shattered conference and program single-game records, the Gold Nuggets were playing something - more accurately, some people - whose stories far outweigh any achievement on the soccer pitch.

Xavier's match against Andrew, which XULA won by a program-record margin of 25-0, was also Pink Day, the Gold Nuggets' annual game in honor of breast cancer awareness.

Members of the coaching staff and team were adorned in pink, but they also came with signs, each of which contained the name of a person for whom the Gold Nuggets were playing.

Cancer survivors, cancer fighters, and those who we have lost were all featured on a sign and in the spirit of the team.
