UPDATE: Xavier men will now face UNT-Dallas in RRAC Tournament Opener

The Xavier men's basketball team will no longer face North American University in Wednesday night's Red River Athletics Conference Tournament opener in the Convocation Center.

Tipoff for the game remains 7:30 p.m., but the No.3-seeded XULA men (19-9, 15-7 RRAC) will now take on North Texas-Dallas (11-15, 10-12 RRAC), a team with whom the Gold Rush split in the regular season.

Sunday afternoon, the Red River Athletics Conference listed North American as the No. 6 seed, and XULAGold.com reported this as the match-up. However, as the Stallions are in their first season in the RRAC, meaning they are ineligible for postseason play. Thus, the previously 7-seeded UNTD was elevated a single spot. The change also brought in Texas A&M-San Antonio as the new No. 8 seed after Jarvis Christian moved into the seventh seed position.

In December, Xavier defeated the Trailblazers 73-62 on the road in December, but dropped a 77-73 decision in the Convocation Center late last month.

The winning team will advance to the RRAC semifinals at Alexandria's Laborde Earles Coliseum, formerly the Rapides Parish Coliseum.
