Gold Nuggets fall to SCAD Savannah at home

METAIRIE, La. - Friday morning, the Xavier women's soccer team showed heart, but fell 1-0 in a closely contested non-conference game against SCAD Savannah. 

It was a game that pitted two teams that are receiving votes in the national NAIA poll, and XULA (1-1-1)  kept SCAD (1-1-1) mostly in check for most of the match. 

However, a SCAD goal in the 52nd minute proved the difference. 

Gold Nugget keeper Luisa Bella has a solid match, making 7 saves. 

Xavier faces another tough challenge in its next contest, a Sept. 4 home match against No. 7 John Brown in Lefreniere Park. Opening kick is scheduled for 5 p.m.
