NEW ORLEANS — Both Xavier University of Louisiana tennis teams improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference after Saturday victories against Tougaloo and Belhaven at City Park Tennis Center. The score of all four dual matches was 9-0.
     The 25th-ranked Gold Rush won 96 of 98 games against Tougaloo. Miroslav Vukicevic and Cameron Knowles did not lose a game to Tougaloo or Belhaven in singles or doubles.
     In the women's matches, Jihanna Mughnee of the 13th-ranked Gold Nuggets lost only one game in two singles victories.
     The matches were the season openers for Tougaloo's and Belhaven's teams.
     Xavier's men will play a pair of NCAA Division I opponents next Saturday at City Park — Alcorn State at 10 a.m. and Florida A&M at 4 p.m. The women will play just once next Saturday, against Alcorn State at 10 a.m.
