     ORLANDO, Fla. — Xavier University of Louisiana's
 
Lacee Ancar, 
Mariia Borodii and 
Pierre Andrieu earned a pair of single victories Thursday
  during the HBCU National Tennis Championships at USTA National Campus.
	
     Ancar defeated Elizabeth City State's Camryn Thompson 6-2, 6-1 
 in the women's B-flight round of 32, then beat Johnson C. Smith's 
  Cierra Turner 6-1, 6-1 in the round of 16. Borodii beat North Carolina A&T's Fabiana 
	 Ramirez 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7) in the women's A-flight round of 16 and Jackson State's
	  second-seeded Nina Zhang 6-3, 6-4 in the quarterfinals.
	 Andrieu defeated Shaw's  Diego Leal  6-4, 6-4 in the men's B-flight round of 32
	  and North Carolina A&T's Hayden Faulkenbury 6-1, 6-3 in the round of 16.
		
		     XULA's top-seeded 
Charlene Goreau, the women's A-flight defending champion,
		 lost 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) to Florida A&M's Mialiniaina Rakotondrazafy in the quarterfinals.
		
     XULA, a longtime NAIA power, won eight matches against NCAA Division I opponents.
		
		     The three-day tournament will conclude Saturday.
